Description
Very RARE original not repro poster! The 1969 Woodstock Poster was designed by Arnold Skolnick who was a close friend of mine. I sold many for him from his personal collection in my retail store and online before he passed away. I have just finished moving and found that I had this one left. This is an Authentic original in excellent condition and measures 36 1/2" long by 24" wide. There are two areas on the edge with slight creases I show in the photos, they would be covered by a Matt when framing. This was rolled up in a tube so I used some weights to photograph it. Will ship in a tube. I used to have him sign them before I shipped but alas he is no longer here to do that.I do have an artist statement from Arnold talking about the posters that I will include with the sale. I had also done a couple of videos with him that are up on Youtube if you search his name and he is talking about his experience at the concert. Arnold was called to come up with a design because the original submitted was an Art Nouveau style and had nudity in it. He used a razor blade to cut colored paper on his kitchen table to do the lettering and design. The bird was simply based on one outside his window. Arnold was a very talented graphic designer who also designed book covers including To Kill a Mockingbird.
95% of the posters available online are fakes so this is how to tell an original. This poster has all of the tells.
The Type 1 original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 24″ x 36″, although the size may vary by as much as ½″. The stock is fairly thin and is not glossy — in fact, it is quite dull. All original posters of this type have the following printing flaws:
1. On the inside edge of the right hand stem of the “M” in “MUSIC,” where the stem makes a 45-degree angle back to the left, there is a tiny dot just inside the white ink;
2. There is a white speck to the left of the finger closest to the left edge. This speck is one inch up from the bottom of the blue band, and is approximately ″ from the left edge of the poster; and
3. There is a tiny white dot in the top stem of the “3.” It is roughly in the middle of the orange ink, and is ⅜ from the left edge of the “3.” This can be very difficult to see and may require magnification.
Here are some reviews from other buyers of the posters from me when Arnold was still alive:

I purchased an original Woodstock poster late on a Thursday, Beth had the artist sign it and sent photos the next day and I received it in Albuquerque on Monday! In addition, Beth was very helpful answering my questions and her description of the poster and its minor flaws was more than fair. She also volunteered to have the artist do a voice recording about how he came to have this particular poster which makes it even more special. Beth was hands on with my order from start to finish, she made the entire process a very pleasant experience and I couldn't be more pleased with the poster and the outstanding service.

Fantastic experience! Beth kept me updated throughout the process and even provided additional information about the poster. Everything arrived just as listed.

FANTASTIC piece of history...exactly as advertised. It took 3 weeks to get...which was NOT THE FAULT of the sender. The United States Postal Service needs HELP...badly. A pleasure doing business with Beth...she is professional and courteous. She receives my highest recommendation....
