    Description

Some say that estimating is something of a guessing game; yet the estimate may determine the profit or loss for the painting contractor.  In fact, estimating is so important that the tempo and performance of the entire company hinge on how well or how poorly it is done.
Do you really want to be guessing about that?
    Commercial Paint Estimator 9.1a
program will take the guesswork out of your bidding process and show you what you need to charge to make the profit margin you desire.
The program is flexible and adaptable to any type of situation or job and covers all phases of interior and exterior painting, and wall covering systems that may be encountered on a Large Commercial Project.
The estimating program uses the developed pricing method.  The takeoff is made of the work to be done usually in square feet or number of units, as in doors, doorframes, lineal feet of trim etc.  Labor production rates, and material usage rates, are applied by the estimating program to determine labor hours and material quantities.  A separate cost is calculated for labor and material.
Your estimate becomes a valuable planning and control tool.  It will be the key to setting job performance standards and controlling the job in order to earn a maximum profit.  You will have a very accurate, detailed breakdown of hours for each step of the job and an accurate detailed amount of the materials that will be needed.  You will be able to use your estimate to instruct your Foreman or Field Supervisors as to how long each phase of the job should take and how much material will be needed and then track their productivity to see how well they are doing.
Its use will also significantly reduce the possibility of mathematical errors when totaling your bid and the time involved in looking up production and material coverage rates.
