    Description

    Ornately decorated SPECIAL STRAIGHT RAZOR sold by F.W. ENGELS, and made in Solingen, Germany .  The box (6 3/4" by 1 1/8" by 1/2") is marked "Fried. Wilh. Engels, F.W.E. Special, Fabrik Marke, and the Boy/Girl Logo" and is good shape.  The box is covered with dark crinkled paper that has some wear.  The Straight Edge (6" long by 3/4") has an ochre colored handle with FWE Special  and an ornate design riveted on each end.  The Blade is very sharp and in great condition, marked "F.W.Engels, Solingen, GR, Germany" and "F.W.E. Special and logo" on the other side.  Please see all photos.  Friedrich Wilhelm Engels, NYC, sold straight razors made in Solingen, Germany.  These popular blades were made of Argo steel, some of the most durable steel used in the production of shaving blades and well known to hold their edge.
