The wood is from trees that have been bearing fruits in the Nativity town of Bethlehem since the time of Jesus.
The prunes of young olive trees, the sprouts from the trunks of the old and unproductive trees so that there
were no trees damaged or destroyed in the process of harvesting this wood.
The Olive tree is native to the Holy Land where it took root.   Olive trees were  cultivated around 4,000 B.C. and they grow to  heights between 10 and 40 feet.  The wood from the Olive tree has a sentimental and religious significance.  It's oil has been used throughout history.
This tool is truly a timeless treasure, polished to perfection and made to last a lifetime.
One that can be handed down to your children or grandchildren.
The wood is turned freehand - no templates used - so no two are exactly alike and are made to last a lifetime.
When the seam ripper is closed it measures 4-1/2".  With it open measures just under 5-1/2"
