    Here's an beautiful early titanium frameset from  USA based Merlin.  Merlin started in the 1980s and it looks like they used the Grease Guard pressfit bottom bracket from the later 1980s until the early 1990s.
    Here are some details that might help to figure the year and model:   It is marked "Geometry by Tom Kellogg" on the non drive chainstay.  The serial is 55XX and measurements are 56cm for the top tube and 55cm from the  center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube.  Headtube is 12cm.   The seat bolt is integrated into the seat tube.  The head badge is a decal and in great shape.  The brake cable guides on the top tube are offset.
    The condition of this frameset is excellent.  There are no dents, gouges anywhere.  Titanium seems to last forever and this is a great example.  About the only sign of age I find is some marks on the "Titanium" decal on the drive side--and decals are readily available.  The seatpost diameter is popular 27.2mm.
