    Description

    >Offered here for your consideration is a
    1985 PREFONTAINE CLASSIC
    lithograph print artist proof,
numbered 1/111 and signed by the artist Don Person
    !!
    Please see all
    five
photos, as they are an important part of my description. In a word, this
    Steve Prefontaine
    artist's proof is
    RARE
and one-of-a-kind!! This edition of the
    Pre Classic
took place on June 1, 1985 here in
    Eugene, Oregon
at the old, historic and since-razed
    Hayward Field
. This vintage lithograph print measures approximately 17" x 12" x 1.5" (measurements include the frame), and features the late, great "Pre" in what appears to be his
    University of Oregon Ducks
warm-up track suit. The litho is matted and framed under glass, with a nicely stained wooden frame (not sure of wood type). The artist was a runner here in Eugene back in the day, and was the artist credited for both the 1982 and 1984 Prefontaine Classic posters (please see my '84 Pre Classic poster in my eBay store). The lithographic print is entitled
"A Look Forward, A Look Back"
and includes the artist-penciled "A/P, 1/111" (which connotates "Artist Proof", with an additional 110 produced); please see the bottom edge of the lithograph, which is also accompanied by the artist's signature. Underneath where it says
    "Prefontaine Classic"
    , it also says
    "Eugene, Oregon USA"
along with the date of the Pre Classic track meet:
    "1 June, 1985"
    .  Steve Prefontaine autographs are
    not
as rare as the offered lithograph-print, hence the asking price. I am not including a "Best Offer" option for this item; however, serious inquiries/offers are most welcome!
