    Description

In this listing we have a cute, but rather TLC Midge doll head. This doll head was released in the early 1960’s by Mattel as part of the Barbie line. This doll head is Barbie’s best friend Midge, who was a less sultry fashion doll that parents could purchase for their children. Midge is a lovely doll. She has bright red hair styled in a very classic flip with bangs, large blue eyes, and light pink lips. This doll uses the vintage style neck and will need a body with a similar neck joint. This doll head was made in Japan.
This doll head is in not terrible, shape, but does have some issues that make her more TLC. I did wash the doll, but she could use a more in depth cleaning. The doll does have a neck split. It is in the back of the head, so when it’s been repaired and she’s on a body it should mostly be hidden. I don’t see any other splits or anything that is in danger of tearing, but I would be careful with her. The doll’s hair is in shair shape. She will need some styling help. It’s not as nice as it could be. I didn't do a good job styling it for pictures . Her bangs don’t want to lay properly and leave some gaps in a few places, especially at the sides. On the left side there’s a small section of hair behind the bangs that have been cut short. I am not sure if this is factory or not. It matches the length of her bangs, but leaves the side of her hair a little bare. It is possible to pull her hair forward to cover part of her scalp, but with vintage Midge they only rooted the part line and the bottom of her hairline so she doesn't have a lot of coverage in some spots. She does have some broken stands here and there, but the average played with amount. The doll does have some issues with her face paint. She is missing half of her right eyebrow. She has all of her left eyebrow, but towards the tail the paint is a little faint and there’s some small chips and rubs to it. Her eyes look good. She does have some rubs to her brown eyeliner along her eyelash ridge. The whites of her eyes are a little thin in a couple places. She does have some painting flaws to her eyes, but these dolls were hand painted. Her right eye is more of a side glance than a forward glance. The doll’s freckles are really nice. Her lips have rubs to the top and bottom. Some of the paint is still there, but she has a lot missing. I don’t see any earring holes in or around her earlobes, but on the inside of her left ear there looks to be a hole in ear canal. I would assume her right ear has a similar hole, but it doesn’t seem as obvious.
This listing is for the doll head alone, the stand shown is not included.
