Excellent condition vintage straight razor. High quality blade made by Union Cutlery of Olean NY 9/16" x 2.75" blade. Marked "SPIKE Special" and "Union Cutlery Co Olean NY" on the tang. Nice pair of chrome appointments on either end of the translucent butterscotch scales The end has the words "Special spike embossed on both sides and the word "Spike" die cut into it. The Razor measures 5-7/8" closed and 9" open. Blade edge is very nice. This razor is in "as-found" condition exactly as it came from the estate. The box is signed "Union Cutlery Co Olean, NY" and "MAG-NAM 5/8" and is missing both ends (we are not certain that this box is the correct one for this razor, but it how it was stored in the gentleman's massive collection, so that is how we are selling it) Part of an extensive estate collection that is fresh to market.
