    Description

    USA SALES ONLY.  SORRY.
This is a J. R. Torrey manufactured Straight Edge Razor having the term "US" in the Torrey name and
the term "ARMY" etched into one side of the Razor's blade. It is in exceptional condition as you can see
and moves freely. (Sorry, I have not tried using it - not that steady...but I am confident it will cut if used properly)
    Historically,
The Joseph R. Torrey Razor Company was officially founded in 1858 to make razor strops,
and to sell straight razors. From the book by
    Caren Chesler "Why Wealth Disappears":
    The J.R. Torrey Razor company
manufactured straight razors from about 1850 to the end of World War I. It initially imported high-carbon steel razors
from Sweden, but by the 1870s, Worcester, Mass., where the company was based, had become a steel manufacturing center,
and J.R. Torrey Razor was one of its most prominent firms.  From my research,
    the terms "US" and "Army"
were first mentioned in a Torrey catalogue as being used on Torrey razors around 1895, so if this is the earliest date, Torrey
certainly intended these for WWI veterans and other US Army soldiers.
